This may be my first blog I have ever written so bare with me as this may be a bit mundane. I am excited to see how I can develop this website and if it is something I may carry with me in the future after I graduate. The process of making the website was a bit overwhelming but completing something as simple as inserting social media icons makes me feel accomplished. One thing I have always loved since childhood is the ocean or going to an aquarium. I found this video from Vimeo of jellyfish and it also includes a shot of other fishes.
I may be a bit biased but jellyfish are most definitely the superior species that can be found in the ocean. They are very interesting and I love visiting their exhibit at aquariums.
A movie that helped shaped me into the person I am today is Coraline. Even when I first saw the movie as a little kid I felt drawn to it and couldn’t understand why my peers found it scary. It is a movie I could watch on a loop and not get bored. I found the concept of having another reality or place you could escape to. The tunnel that is found in the living room that transports Coraline into the other place has always caught my eye.
In this day and age I think we all have been victims of ‘doomscrolling’ or spending way to much time on our devices. I have often found myself distracted for hours by scrolling on Tik Tok, Youtube, or rewatching shows/movies I have already seen. If I had to guess my most used app would probably be Tik Tok. Yes I know it isn’t a substantial piece of media but the feed I have curated is very interesting to me. One of the things I will thank Tik Tok for is helping me discover new artists or songs I don’t think I would have come across. The audio clip below is currently one of my favorite sounds. I recently discovered that both songs in the mash up are by Beyoncé but it isn’t a single audio hence why people have edited the two together. I normally wouldn’t gravitate towards Beyoncé’s music but hearing this audio and seeing how much I enjoy it may be enough to sway my mind.
Writing about myself or my interests isn’t really something I go out of my way to do. I think of it as journaling which I also am not a fan of. It may just be something I have to warm up to or maybe it just isn’t for me. September 8, 2025
